So in an attempt to provide a more detailed review, I did some background research (err, quick Googling) and couldn’t find much of anything on these. The two that have labels for are marked “Profound”, and a page came up on Cherry Culture’s website but no products were listed (it appears that the company was re-named ProFusion, and has a website.) Another quick Google and I found a listing for pretty much the same kind of palettes, but they’re by L.A. Colors and the line is called Expressions 12-Color Eyeshadow.
And since they all smell, feel, work, and look the same, I’m going to review them as a group. (They probably have the same manufacturer, just different labels.)
Here’s some quick stats about these:
- I found my ProFusion and Zalan palettes in a 99 Cents Only store here in SoCal. Dollar Trees usually have the palettes by L.A. Colors.
- Cost $1USD + tax
- Different brands (L.A. Colors, ProFusion, Zalan, etc.), but they’re all pretty much the same
- All come with sponge-tipped dual ended applicators. Some packages have an opaque lid with a thin mirror, others have a clear plastic lid.
- Come in different shades: blues, browns, purples, and the “rejects” (reds/greens/teals), with different finishes.
- Baby powder scented.
- Made in China
- Ingredients:

Mine came in a blisterpack with a cardboard back. (Hah, that rhymed.)
All swatches are done in the same order they appear in the palettes & over an eyeshadow primer. In these pictures I’m using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion, but any should do fine.
This blue palette is actually the first one I bought, and it’s also one of the first makeup items I ever bought. I think this one is from ProFusion, but don’t quote me on that. These are all soft, almost pastel, shades of matte blue that don’t really excite me… as I now *hate* pastels. They are powdery and have poor colour payoff, with the exception of the darker greyish blue shades.
This palette is by Zalan and while it’s more blues, these are much richer and deeper with some slight silver sparkles that photographed glittery with the flash. Unlike the other blue palette these have incredible color payoff with a slightly less powdery texture. I also got a purple palette by this brand, and unlike this one, the colors not only sucked… they stained! So they got scrapped in lieu of a project.
Powdery neutrals with a matte finish. I kind of like this one from ProFusion, although I don’t reach for it much, because unlike the others (with varying shades of the same colour) this palette has several different neutrals with different undertones & shades… there’s a reddish brown, a grey, a white, several taupes & greys. Very versatile, and although one shade broke, I think this is something you definitely need to check out if you’re new or want something to play around with.
I’ve saved the best for last :D I got this palette for Christmas and at first I wasn’t too impressed with these palettes overall (after dealing with the pastel blues and the staining, chalky purples) so initially they went into the back of my makeup traincase… then one day, while shopping the stash, I pulled it out and decided to use the darker purply shade in lieu of my favorite MAC Satin Taupe in a look Iwas playing around with… and whoa, it was awesome. Unfortunately I don’t remember what brand this was, I’m sorry! (Oh, and the darker shades DO stain… probably thing bad, but if I’m going to die, might as well look awesome, right?)
While these are all metallic/high-shimmer, they’re also incredibly pigmented and slightly powdery. When paired over a primer, these POP out beautifully and make a great addition to my makeup bag, you know, the one full of “junk” makeup I keep in the locker, around the house in case anyone wants to play with it?
Okay, maybe not. I don’t have the fortune of little cousins rummaging through my stuff anymore… which I kinda miss…
Getting off topic again. To make up for it, here’s a quick set of EOTDs using this palette + some mascara & primer. I was testing the light lid vs. dark lid, and despite what I’ve been told, I think the dark lid looks much better.
Adieu!

Aaah, I remember these! When I was younger, I didn’t actually wear makeup, but I was obsessed with these. The L.A. colours ones. I have like 5 of them still xD

Rofl, they kind of suck but alright XD I have a bunch of stuff in the review queue right now though so it may take a while. I has a bad habit of taking photos after photo after photo and never reviewing stuff.

Lol, I did too – taking pics is sooo much more fun than writing up a long report haha. But it’ll be fun!
